Earrings of silver, gold, diamonds, mosaic with sugilite-carnelian tesserae, and an amethyst with reversely engraved intaglio of violets.
According to legend, the goddess Artemis turned one of her companions into a violet to protect her from Apollo's amorous advances. Since that day, violets are remembered as an ancient symbol of humility. In this work, we see violets as two negative sculptures carved inversely into amethyst stones. Mosaics with white and brown diamonds and stones with different shades of violet, lilac and lavender sit pretty on anyone's ear.
