Lanista

Bracelet of gold, silver, diamonds, band in leather and mosaic with lapis and turquoise tesserae.

Ancient gladiators often wrapped leather battle gloves called Cestus around their hands and wrists in order to gain an advantage during combat. The leather braid, which they put on a glove-like form, were sometimes fitted with metal plates or blades and spikes to be used as weapons. The Sevan Bıçakçı Cestus, without these weapons, simply wraps around the wrist. It's representative of a detached self-confidence in the midst of violence. The fastening dagger of the lock is an aesthetic reference to Bıçakçı's surname. The words "thanks" and "patience" are written in Arabic lettering along the mosaic plates that correspond to the lock.
