Lalezar

Earrings of gold, silver, diamonds and a rock crystal with reversely engraved intaglio of tulips.

The stunningly beautiful tulip flourished in Iran and then spread to Europe from the Ottoman Empire. Fortunes were spent just for the sake of their charm. The Ottoman Empire lasted 700 years but had only one period of uninterrupted peace, for 12 years. But the empire used this period for art, entertainment and tulips to flourish. The imperial capital of Istanbul was lined with lovely tulips, which led to the tulip becoming both the name of the period and a symbol of peace and beauty. Even though centuries have passed since those days, tulips continue to make dreams come true for designers and artists, including Sevan Bıçakçı.
